Learning Leads to Mastery - and More Time to Learn More

There’s no place like the home you find homey

Where and when have you felt you are in a comfortable, familiar setting?  Who is there?  What calls you to be there?

How do you feel about your transitions?

Change leads to a ripple effect of change.  Change may first be perceived as wrong…or scary.  Yet then change may eventually be seen as just different.  Or even familiar!

Do your thoughts ever spiral?

Think about how you may acknowledge thoughts or events…. Self validate your feelings…. Consider potential responses that sound and are authentic to you.

Reading & Learning Tools

Identify Stress Sources & Prioritize

Successive Approximations

Breaking down obstacles & journeys creates a step by step SMART goal approach. Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Rewarding. Timebound.

Celebrate each step

What is your primary objective or purpose for the day?  (It needn't be earth shaking!)

Goal Setting Theories

You will more likely sustain your goal pursuit if you "make it your goal."  And as you explain facts and ideas to others, so too will they be more likely to consider and actualize the goal as they make it their own.  This is more likely to occur at a later time.  Patience patience patience!

Awareness - Accuracy - Act on Facts

an incident or memory - emotions - thoughts - actions

Consider an incident or memory.  It occurred.  You may have feelings.  Each feeling is valid.  You may have a knee jerk reaction to those feelings.

State your hypothesis

This incident occurred, e.g., I made a mistake.  I feel stupid. I am a loser.  I will be fired.  But WAIT.

confirm hypotheses with facts (not feelings)

Be accurate.  You made a mistake.  Your feelings are each valid.  Define "loser." Is it a fact that making a mistake correlates with being fired?

disqualifying the positive

Do you make more mistakes than conducting activities correctly?

We are human and thereby flawed.

If we make a mistake we have a decision to make.

Slow down.

Consider your response choices.

You are predicted to make fewer mistakes (not perfect) if you slow down.

Re-state your hypothesis

I generally perform activities effectively.  Occasionally I make mistakes.  Yet more often I validate my feelings that I can feel disappointment, yet this does not confirm that I am a loser nor will I be fired for making a mistake.

the more I conduct tasks, the more I tend to refine them, improve performance, increase productivity

The more I am being who I am, the better I am at being who I am.
